In summer, the song sings itself.  ~William Carlos Williams

A hum, a whistle, a snap of the fingers, a tap of the toes – a solitary tune morphs into a chorus of sound in the summer.  Happiness is contagious this season, even the heat waves carry summer’s passionate pulse.   Mornings chirp, tweet, soft, soft,  ring like bells, the tempo again and again, highs and lows, laughing.  Mellow afternoon melodies snooze, breeze by like sand drifts and waves washing ashore, ice cream trucks carousel in the background, lounging, lulling, an instrumental intermission. Vibrating bongo drums in the night, boom boom boom, colors make sizzling sounds in the sky, crickets grow louder, moths move to the light and disco sound, even stars scintillate diminishing into a solo act until perfect silence.
